ASET Strengthens Ties with Central Asia through the Visit of Kazakh Researcher Didar Yeskermessov

A professor from D. Serikbayev East Kazakhstan Technical University, specializing in technical coatings, visited the School to explore research collaboration and international mobility programs.

Algeciras, June 15, 2026.

The Algeciras School of Engineering and Technology (ASET) has hosted an institutional and technical visit from Dr. Didar Yeskermessov, an associate professor at D. Serikbayev East Kazakhstan Technical University, since Tuesday, June 9. This stay was made possible through the Erasmus+ mobility program, following a support request initiated by our center last year to foster the internationalization of teaching and research.

During his stay, Dr. Yeskermessov held a working meeting with the Dean, Juan Carlos Valenzuela, and researchers from various departments. The primary goal of these meetings was to present his home institution’s capabilities and explore synergies in the field of materials science, an area where the speaker has a recognized track record. This initiative aligns with the core strategies of the Dean’s team, which aims to enhance international visibility and generate technical transfer networks with prestigious institutions in emerging economies.

A notable anecdote from the visit was that the Kazakh university shares the UCA acronym (University of Central Asia) with our institution. Within this context of academic brotherhood, Professor Yeskermessov highlighted his center’s mobility program, extending a formal invitation to ETSIA faculty to conduct research stays in Kazakhstan, thereby strengthening the School’s global cooperation strategy.

About Dr. Didar Yeskermessov

Dr. Yeskermessov serves as an associate professor in the Physics Department of the Faculty of Basic Engineering Training at D. Serikbayev University. His scientific specialization focuses on coating technology, a critical area for improving the durability and functionality of industrial materials. He has a solid academic output and international collaborations that establish him as a reference in the physical properties analysis of advanced materials in Central Asia.
